John is passionate about the added value that good design brings to a project.
Having designed and lived in the Port Hills area for his entire career John knows what works. This means you can be confident that your home will be tailored to suit the specific site conditions that are encountered when working on hill properties.
John has served as a Licensed Building Practitioner assessor for the Department of Building and Housing and an assessor for the Architects Registration Board. He was recently presented with a New Zealand Institute of Architects Presidents Award to acknowledge his enduring work advocating for people facing post-earthquake insurance issues in Canterbury. John has also used his experience and design expertise as a consultant to several residential subdivisions in Christchurch, and is regularly involved in the drafting of design guidelines and covenants.

Stephen Crooks

Stephen brings a strong drive for excellence in design and construction, and expects only the best from himself, his team and contractors. His aim with any project, large or small, is to create quality, site-specific design solutions that respect context whilst meeting the more pragmatic requirements of space, function, budget & timeframe in creative and carefully considered ways.
Being trained in Homestar and Passive House standards, Stephen is passionate about high performance sustainable design that results in comfortable interior environments. He has a particular interest in using prefabrication techniques to achieve greater efficiency, safer construction processes and better quality buildings.
Stephen has served as a volunteer Civil Defence Responder in the Hagley-Ferrymead ward for the past 14 years, working his way up to Deputy Team Leader. He has participated in several CD Centre activations as a result of earthquakes, fire & floods.

Greg Miller

Throughout his 15 years in the practice Greg has progressed from graduate to Registered Architect to Director, and uses this experience to foster team development within the practice. He has strong organisational and technical skills coupled with a pragmatic design approach, and has proven capabilities as a project architect on many of our key projects.
Greg is customer-focussed, and likes to build successful relationships with clients, consultants and contractors alike. He is passionate about residential architecture because it means working with people who have a real interest in achieving the best possible outcome for their project. Greg will listen, be attentive to your ideas and communicate regularly.
Outside the practice Greg is actively involved in the local community, having been Chairperson of the Beckenham Neighbourhood Association for six years. In this role he has worked with other neighbourhood and local body representatives to advocate for property owners affected by flooding, and to push for strengthened rules to better preserve the historic character of this unique neighbourhood’s many bungalows and villas.

Jane Mustard

Jane studied architecture at Victoria University of Wellington and graduated with an M.Arch (Prof.) with distinction in 2010. She joined the practice in 2012 and became registered as an architect in 2016.
